

Prof. Bernard Lerer
About
Bernard Lerer is Professor of Psychiatry and Director, Hadassah BrainLabs, Center for Psychedelic Research at Hadassah Medical Center, Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel. His main, current research focus is the development of novel psychiatric therapeutics based on psychedelic drugs. Prof. Lerer has published 399 peer reviewed research papers (H-index 82) and 3 books. His research has been supported by NIMH, the European Union, the Israel Science Foundation and the Israel Innovation Authority. He has received numerous awards, including the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award of the International Society for Affective Disorders (ISAD). He was Founding Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology (1998-2008). He has mentored more than 100 PhD and MSc students, postdocs and psychiatry research trainees. Prof. Lerer holds patents in psychopharmacology and pharmacogenetics and is the founder of DioTree, a company developing novel therapeutics based on his inventions.
