About
Prof. Ahinoam Lev-Sagie, MD is a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology and an expert in vulvovaginal disorders since 2008, serving as a senior physician in the department of OB\GYN in Hadassah University Medical Center. She was trained in the clinical aspects of vulvar and vaginal disorders in Drexel university College of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA (2006-8) and was also a research fellow in the Division of Immunology and Infectious Diseases of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, NY, where she was involved in basic research and was trained in laboratory work. Dr. Lev-Sagie established and runs vulvovaginal clinics at “Clalit” healthcare medical union in Jerusalem and in Hadassah Medical Center, as well as clinics dedicated to women with genital complications resulting from hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation and breast cancer survivors. In parallel, Dr. Lev-Sagie’s research is focusing on the vaginal microbiome and its possible contribution to women’s health as well as on the etiology of dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse), affecting 20% of women. She is the Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer at GynTools, a rapid point-of-care diagnostic tool for vaginitis.
