The Hadassah Cardiovascular Technology Innovation Center is dedicated to developing novel, clinically-driven technologies that address real unmet needs in cardiology. With full access to Hadassah’s clinical data, imaging repositories, and advanced inhouse research infrastructure, the Center develops solutions both independently and in collaboration with industry and academic partners. With a strong focus on commercial viability, it drives the development of cutting-edge technologies by integrating clinical insight, engineering innovation and research excellence. Uniquely positioned at the crossroads of science and patient care, the Center integrates basic research with sophisticated capabilities in prototyping, simulation, and validation - enabling the rapid development and testing of novel technologies in simulation environments, preclinical models, and clinical trials.
As part of the renowned Hadassah Heart Institute, the Center works in close collaboration with leading clinicians and scientists, supported by world-class research infrastructure.
Each innovation is developed in alignment with Hadasit’s business development and intellectual property strategy, ensuring both clinical relevance and commercial viability.
Current projects span a wide array of pioneering technologies, including flexible microneedles, microchip printing, advanced catheter systems, and AI-driven platforms -advancing the future of non-invasive monitoring and targeted cardiovascular therapies.

Staff and Expertises

Dr. Dean Nachman – Director
Senior Cardiologist with an MSc in Heart Failure. Brings extensive clinical experience, alongside deep involvement in translational research and cardiovascular medical device development.

Kareem Abd-Rbo – Head of Engineering
Mechanical Engineer with an MSc in Pharmacological Engineering. Specializes in mechanical and electrical prototyping, with proven expertise in developing advanced cardiovascular simulators.

Dr. Ishita Sarkar – Head of Basic Research
PhD in Neurobiology with broad expertise in animal models, molecular biology, and preclinical research. Renowned for her skill in scientific grant writing and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Research Team
A dynamic team of research assistants and students supports the Center’s projects, contributing to hands-on experimentation, data analysis, and day-to-day operations across engineering and biomedical domains.
